Intermittent Failed to Open Stream After Move to Root – Godaddy
-
Hi,
I recently finished a build on my website. I developed the wordpress site in a sub folder labeled “testsite” and then attempted to move it to the root, following directions I found here on www.remarpro.com as well as other sites on the internet. The original installation was a one-click install through my GoDaddy hosting server.
After moving the site to the root directory, it was my understanding that it would take a little time for GoDaddy’s database to update. Within 10 minutes, the homepage finally started loading. However, intermittently I have been receiving error messages. They seem to come up as I try to access different areas within WP-Admin. For example, the home page will be loading fine, then if I click on “Plugins” or “Appearance from my admin panel” I will start getting the following errors throughout the entire site:
Warning: require_once(/home/content/96/11783996/html/testsite/wp-includes/load.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/96/11783996/html/testsite/wp-load.php on line 42
Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/content/96/11783996/html/testsite/wp-includes/load.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/php5_3/lib/php’) in /home/content/96/11783996/html/testsite/wp-load.php on line 42
After 10 minutes or so, the database seems to reset and the homepage will start working again. I followed all the steps for moving the site from a sub to root, but this problem is preventing me from finalizing the site for launch. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
