    Hello.
I have a WordPress eCommerce site using the a child theme of Blanco and I recently did the woocommerce update. When I was styling the site I ran into a post that suggested turning off the woocommerce styles and copying the woocommerce.css into my child theme css and altering it there which is what I did. It was very helpful advice, but Since I updated to Woocommerce 2.1 my style.css file with the correct styles is being overridden by the new woocommerce.css and I would like to turn off the woocommerce styles again and cant find that option any more. Is there any way I can override the woocommerce.css with my style.css file again? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance!

  • Yep, this is documented in our common issues after updating to WooCommerce 2.1 list: WooCommerce 2.1 no longer has a setting to disable the CSS.

I don’t quite get what is going on here so please bear with me.
    My theme is responsive.
Prior to 2.1 update, I had nice 3 or 4 column layout on shop page and on a product page, the item image was on the left with short desctiption on the right.

Now, after the 2.1 update, I have a 2 column layout with the images enlarged to fit into the 100% width.

Product page has the product image taking up the entire page width, with the short desctiption under this huge image.

What seems to have happened here and how do I go about rectifying it? Am I required to figure out new CSS, where it was working before or is there an easier fix?

Much appreciated for a great plugin. This has throw a bit of a spanner into the works, at this point.

    Hi Coen,
Thank you for the reply! I have been reading & working on fixing my site after the update all day and I have followed all of the instructions in your documentation. I still cant get the place order button back so a customer cant proceed to buy a product, my checkout page is a mess, the variable products are able to be purchased but my custom add to cart button wont show up on the variable products. the woocommerce css is disabled but in the previous version of woocommerce I had copied the woocommerce css into my own css file and altered it there, and now with version 2.1 I applied the quick fix you provided to turn off the woocommerse css in the functions.php file which worked but it is isn’t allowing the css for woocommerce in my own style.css file to work.

I backed up my files and tried to re-upload the old woocommerce files but my whole site broke. Basically, is there any way I can delete the woocommerce file and reactivate the old version again? I can’t imagine being able to work through all of the problems I am having with the new version. I spent months building this site & none of it is working.

I really appreciate your help. I’m desperate.

    Hello,
Oh man, I tried, & tried but didn’t solve it with Woocommerce 2.1. I followed all of the instructions Coen linked in above, and in theory it worked but my site was still a mess. Also it screwed up my variable products, and cart. I forget all the details exactly, but I do know I will never install another woocommerce update without doing it on my dev site first. Duh! I don’t know what I was thinking.

Long story short, I solved it by deleting the whole woocommerce plugin file & downloaded the version of woocommerce I was using when everything worked perfectly. I reinstalled the older version & it was back to normal. When I have more time I will figure out how to make 2.1 work but I think it will mean rethinking the styles.
I hope this helps & if you have any other questions just let me know.
I feel your pain. If you find any other solutions let us know.
    Thanks & good luck!
