• Hi there NGG 2.0.40 installed. Having a huge permissions problem.

Some of my users’s (who are all editors) cannot see the NGG submenu. I have set the role for adding gallery/upload image to everything I can think of and the menu never shows up for a few users.

I have tried setting them to Administrators.. and even then they only get the last 4 menu items (Tags, settings, options and upgrade).

From what I can tell there is something screwed up in their capabilities.

Can someone direct me to the capabilities a user should have to be able to see the Overview and Add Gallery/Image links?

Doing some more digging.. it turns out to be a bug in NextGen.. The system used for authorization relays on the hierarchy of default roles.

In this site I am using custom user roles… even when I select my custom user roles, it has no idea how to set the permissions. This appears to be a bug as far as I’m concerned because you cannot integrate the NGG auth system fully with wordpress.

Are there any plans to update NGG to properly support capabilities? The Roles and Capabilities screen should have a check box for each role and not rely on a hierarchy that it is not possible to tie into.

    Any suggestions for a workaround?
