    Hi,

I am using Import Export extensively.
I write up content locally and then export to server.

Issue is that, I am using some short code which refers POST_ID.

When i import this on server, this ID is something else and short code is failing to work.

Please suggest how to keep same Id between import and export.

  • So you are importing onto an existing site with different post id’s?

    Hi,

I am Importing to Existing site, Yes.

But the post id are getting changed automatically on import that the one in source (localhost)

I’m not sure exactly what you want to happen. Do you want the post id to change and if not then what id do you want? Meaning that importing is like a formula, when I say the import the post id, there is a relation already setup. This shortcode uses that post id. If I want to change that relationship then how could it be defined?

Could you explain exactly what you would like to happen?

    Hope this clears the question.

Issue is that when i import posts on server , post id is not same as that in local.
Due to this, shortcode is not working.

Is it possible that the post id is already being used? Therefore a new id is being created?

    IT might be.

try out few things and I changed the solution itself.

    Not using post_id anymore.

    Thanks for support.
