Disqus SSO with Universal Embed on wordpress

Ok, so I use Disqus with Single Sign-On throughout my posts and they work just fine there. My page templates, on the other hand, don’t have comments, so I’ve embed Disqus using their universal code. My problem is that the SSO doesn’t carry over to these particular threads. Has anyone had any success at doing this? I can’t figure it out. The comments load, but the SSO log-in button doesn’t exist.
