wp_options: Table is marked as crashed and last repair failed

Do you or you host have a backup of your database?

If wordpress is going to be this unreliable I’m better off with my old site.

WordPress is reliable to millions of users. Your problem is with the database.

Sorry I was cranky at 1am. It’s working again.So at the moment it doesn’t look as if I need to replace anything??
What database? I have a backup of my site but it’s in a zipped file. What part would I need to replace just the wp_options or what?
Also if I replace that will it affect the recent work I’ve created on my site? So if I get future problems I replace things with an early backup?

All WP sites run in a database. Try looking in the zip archive for a .sql database backup file.

If your site is up, your database is working. Your data base contains all the posts, pages, users, etc. It is your site. Access to the database should be in the same place as your other website tools are that are provided by your host. You should ask them about database backups.

Your problem is common with WordPress plugins. There is a database
table called wp_options. This table is used by most plugins to store various tidbits of data. Unfortunately this table becomes corrupted (quite easily it seems). The cause can be the insertion of weird
data or plugins that do not close database connections neatly. Once
corrupted the table is inaccessible until repaired. This is usually a large issue as wp_options is commonly fundamental to a plugins’
functionality.

This problem has become so common that we set up a few months ago something that checks and repairs tables with corrupted data every hour. This usually fixes the ‘database problem’.

I do not know what is corrupting your wp_options table directly. To find out what is causing this you should need to make the corruption happen yourself, and record what you did to make it happen. What usually happens is once a WordPress site has been finalised the table corruption disappears (but that may be due to that the WordPress user has found out what not to put in the wp_options table).

WordPress has been downloaded (as off a few seconds ago) 17,449,891 times. If what the host says is true why aren’t many more doing this? This is the first time I have seen a host with such blatant nonsense. Make sure you are running an SQL database.

Yes.

Ask your hosts for the server logs to see if they have recorded anything.

Next time it is down sign into your hosted account and then to the database. You should have a MySQL page that shows MySQLAdmin. Click on the options table to open it. On the next menu click on operations. You will see
Table maintenance
Check table
Analyze tablen
Repair table
Optimize tablen
Flush the table (“FLUSH”)
and you can check the table yourself.

Keep a current backup of the database.

Hi there, new to WordPress I created a website a while ago https://www.villapuertonaos.com (2 to 3 months ago) everything was great until this weekend, getting a white page, can’t log in either. I call my hosting company and they telling me everything is good on there end, they even replace content with a back up data base from Friday, they also told me that they up grade the version of wordpress as the one I was running was version 3.7
