My client has a business that serves both commercial and residential customers.

She would like the sidebar blog list to be customized based on category, so that the (static) pages geared toward commercial customers don’t have blog titles in the sidebar that relate to residential topics.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks,
    Nina

I’m referring to the Recent Posts widget. Is there some way to make it such that the Posts listed are filtered (by category) so that depending on what page you are on, only posts from specific categories are listed?

I searched for plugins, but didn’t fond any.

Or do I need to make custome page templates?

I am using the Bizway Pro theme.

Commercial themes aren’t supported in this forum, so you’ll need to ask the developer.

Thanks for your response. I originally got Bizway from www.remarpro.com but I don’t think this issue has anything to do with the theme. Recent posts is a standard WP widget after all.

The recent posts widget isn’t configurable in the way you want (without customization) and there’s no way for anyone here to know if your theme offers that or not. Which is why it’s recommended you seek help from the theme’s creator.
That said, I’d probably create a custom menu and get one of several plug ins that allow you to vary sidebar content. Display widgets is one.
