videos not displaying

What theme are you using? Where did you download it from?
Are you using the video shortcode?

right now I’m using 2012, I think it came with wordpress.
I used the add media button in my post.
Videos show as black squares in media, is that correct.

Can you post a link to a page that demonstrates this?

I find the short code works much better than just pasting the full code in a post. Not sure why but it must be more stable ???

You may need to use a player plugin to play those video file types.

Yes, https://aroundlodi.com/?p=398 plays, that’s a wmv, .. mpgs, avi don’t show at all.

They don’t give a black square. They pop up with a Quicktime Logo and a Question mark pops up over and then nothing.

Do the video’s play on other computers without being uploaded to the site. Maybe there is an issue with your video format.

Thanks adamorange, I don’t think my videos have format problems, but I will double check them, to eliminate the possibility.

Yes, I am having problems playing that mpg, it works fine on my computer, I will find others to test.

loaded a working mpg, still loads as a link, have to go out … will try that plugin when I return.
