    Hi!

    As detailed here,

The Mobile Theme searches through the custom menu locations for your current desktop theme and displays the menu assigned to the primary position. If you have no custom menus assigned, it will default to the standard page menu.

As for the static home page, could you go to Settings > Reading in your dashboard, and let me know what your settings are? Do you use a static front page as described here:

If you use a Static Front Page, it should be set under Settings > Reading in your dashboard. Otherwise, the Mobile Theme will try to display a list of your most recent blog posts.

As for shortcodes, which ones are giving you trouble?

    Hi Richard,

We have one menu for the desktop app, but would like to use a different one for the mobile version of the site. Most mobile plugins provide a means to specify a custom menu. Also, the desktop site uses TheProfessional theme which creates a slider and does not have a static page setting. We created a static page for use with the mobile theme; currently WPSmart, but would be interested in trying Jetpack’s mobile plugin if the the items above could be modified to allow for custom settings.

TheProfessional makes use of [box type=”bio”] shortcodes. In the theme we are using, I copied in some code from TheProfessional to enable this functionality so that we didn^t have to remove it from the desktop in order to provide an acceptable user experience on the mobile site. If you are already able to check around in the current theme, perhaps you could simply load it’s existing shortcode support?

    Hope this helps,

    Best
