Cannot send forms using IE 8 (was working before upgrading to CF7 3.7)

FAQ:

• The spinning arrow icon shows up once I submit a form, but then nothing happens.
• My contact form behaves oddly on certain browsers.

Hi! I think something really isn’t right as I tried the plugin in multiple sites with different configurations.

I only encounter the problem in IE 8 (not sure if affects 7 and below, I haven’t tested).

I also tried using IE 11 Developer Tools (F12) and set the mode to IE 8, it also doesn’t work, it only shows the spinning icon.

Also, it only affects version 3.7 of the plugin. I rolled back to the previous version and the forms worked again.

Please take a look at version 3.7.

I have the same problem:

Just installed and set up Contact Form 7.3.7 on WP 3.8.1
Contactforms works perfectly with my:
Google Chrome v.32…
FireFox v.26..
mobile IE (guess it is newest version for Windows 8)

BUT with my Internet Explorer 8:
when I click “Send” the “send-wheel” just keeeeps spinning – and nothing else happens.

I have tryed with IE8 on an older homepage (contactform 3.3.1
WP 3.4.2) so it is not updated – but THERE it works ??

The only solution for now is to rollback to the version before Contact Form 7 3.7.

I am having the same problem. Firefox, safari, chrome works. IE 7 and 8 do not. Please post a fix. Get the spinning wheel.

I’m also having this problem in IE 8 only. So far, it looks like the ajax call is going through but receiving a null response for some reason.

EDIT: FOUND FIX ——

Looks like this was a bug in jquery.form.js which was fixed a few days ago. Grab the latest version of jquery.form.js and jquery.form.min.js from here: https://jquery.malsup.com/form/#download and use these to replace the corresponding files at plugins/contact-form-7/includes/js/

Tried JRGould’s FIX, but unfortunately I’m still getting the infinite spinning icon in IE8.
