    Hi Steve,

After filling in your API key the plugin should show it’s connected to your MailChimp account. The plugin will pull-in your various list and their fields.

You can then go to MailChimp for WP > Forms and create a sign-up form for one (or multiple) list(s). By default, a form only includes an email field but with the Add MailChimp field select box located on the right side of the screen it should be fairly easy to add more fields to your forms.

    Hope that helps!

Even though I put the API key in ( generated by Mainlchimp ) , it does not show as connected …

    Hi Steve,

That’s really strange and obviously shouldn’t happen. Are you sure you’re using the correct API key and does the plugin say “not connected”?

Also, are you using any other plugins performing remote requests? For example, are you able to update and download new plugins from your WP Admin panel without any problems?

not connected is in a grey box . I only have one API code which I generated today for the purpose of using the plugin . Yes, I have a few pulgins working . . .

Although the other plugins do Not request an API key

    Hi Steve,

That’s really strange. If the API key is correct then it means the plugin has trouble connecting to MailChimp / making a remote request.

Are you using a firewall plugin? If not, can you check with your webhost if they allow remote requests over HTTPS (secured connection) using cURL?

I am actually having the same problem. Says I am connected, but can’t find the feed

I’m experiencing the same problem. API Key has been entered but plugin is still telling me I’m not connected.

Probably a WP version issue? I used this plugin with a website a couple of months back and had no difficulties like this.

In the end I pasted HTML from Mailchimp sign up page in the WP page ( so didnt use plugin )

    where did you paste it?

Ahhh I didn’t have a list made yet all is good!

Folks, had the same issue. Remote requests over HTTPS (secured connection) using cURL not working.

Resolved this by enabling php_curl.dll in my php and apache settings. Ask your webhost to do this for you.

Basically: Open php.ini, search for curl, uncomment extension=php_curl.dll and save.

    Hope this helps!

I try to input my API key, but as soon as I hit “save” the blog throws me to the front page, and never shows me as either connected or working properly. Help!

After scrolling back up, I realized that either WordFence or WordPress Firewall might be the issue; deactivated them, and it took.

Question is can I reactivate them afterwards?

I have tested the plugin today wih my local test installation and it worked fine. then I have removed the api key from the test machine and have entered it in the live system settings.

but there I always remain “not connected”. I already have disabled the api key in mailchimp back office and have created a new one. but this new api key still brings me a greyed “not connected”.

    any ideas?

    To crpsnrw,

I found out my problem was, indeed, my security plug-ins. Do you have any Anti-virus, firewall, or other (WordFence) security plug-ins running? If so, disable them temporarily. Input (copy and paste) your API key, save your settings and you should be connected. Once the connection is made, you can re-activate your security software.
