Create custom page with the widgets in the left side

Hello,

At the beginning I have added a widgets to the left sidebar, but each time I create a custom page by making a copy of the page.php file then edit the new file to add my custom code. I see the widgets appear in the right sidebar not on the left as the home page.

So my question is: How can I create a custom page and make the widgets show up in the left side??
