Jetpack contact form background color while selected

Hi Everyone,
I have been using the Jetpack contact form and really like it.

I have managed to change the background color and labels to fit my theme. However I noticed that the text area changes colors when you are writing on it.

I set the background color for text area as white, but when someone clicks inside to start writing the message it instantly changes to black (making my black font disappear – I changed the font color to be visible regardless of the black/white background but this is still bothering me).
I would like my form to do just what this text area Im writing on right now does, keep the white background when Im writing and also when I am not longer working on the text area.

Any help? any css property or something I can change to help this from happening?
