Is it possible to make a certain term active and NOT to display ‘all’ when people enter the portfolio.

    I have terms like 2010 – 2011 – 2012 – 2014

I would like to make 2014 ‘active’ in order to limit page length…pagination would be a better solution but I understand this is not possible?

Regards and thanks for this plugin. Been using it for quite a while alreay!

    Hi japhys,

That is an excellent question. Off the top of my head I’m not sure. I think if the javascript is updated to remove references to “all” and the CSS is set to hide “all” then it might just work. Let me look into it a little bit and see if it works the way I think it might.

To your question regarding pagination, the primary issue with it is that pagination would break the filtering. The quicksand script that drives the filtering can only manipulate what it sees on the page at that time. If you had multiple pages and there were items on page 2 in a filter group that you clicked on page 1, the script wouldn’t and couldn’t know it. Pagination can be set up if no filtering is being used, but I’m guessing one of the main draws of my plugin is the filtering animation.

So I tried a couple different things and it turns out it’s not quite as easy as I’d hoped. Setting a base filter doesn’t look like it can be done without re-writing a good portion of the javascript and the plugin.

    Thanks for looking into it.

I used to have a portfolio page for every year using the exclude option. That way the other subterms remained visible. like

    2012 – rock – folk – electronic (NOT IN 2013)
    2013 – rock – folk – electronic (NOT IN 2012)

Now we are in 2014 I have to exclude 2012 AND 2013 and that is not possible.

If I use ‘IN’ 2014 I lose all the genre terms.

It is getting complicated now ?? Maybe just use one lenghty portfolio page then.
