• Just wanted to get an official word on an ideal image size for the slider. My research on the internet has shown conflicting information of 1300×500, 1200×500 and 1170×500 px. I saw a thread from 8 months ago from one of the authors of the template that recommended 1170×500, just wondering if that’s changed with some of the new updates. Can we get an official size? Also, it might be a good idea to recommend the ideal size right in the customize window. Thanks.

    Thank you! So does that mean if the slider is set to full width you can choose a width for the pics? Any recommendations?

    I personally go with 1200 x 500. On a 1920 x 1080 monitor they render 1905 x 794 and the loss of quality is hardly noticeable (they’re a bit blurred too, and this helps). I wouldn’t go past that since browsing is slowly moving towards smaller screens with bigger resolutions.

    Thanks acub. Just to be clear, you recommend 1200×500 for the full width slider? (full width slider checked off?) Would I stick with the 1170×500 without the box checked?

    The most important thing with a slider is to have equally sized images, if you want them to look good cross-browsers cross-platforms. I chose 1200 x 500 over 1170 x 500 because it’s easier for clients running sites based on this theme to remember those sizes. If all my clients were tech-savvy i would have probably went for 1170 x 500.

    And I don’t think larger images would add anything to the website besides unnecessary pageload time. I think 1170 x 500 is more than enough to make an impression. Just choose your images wisely. ??

    acub, I’m noticing when I put in a slider image of 1170×500 set to full width the bottom of the pic gets way cut off. Any way to avoid this or is it a necessary evil of the theme?

    @likegluelikecrew – for full width you should use 1200 x 500.
