WP-Importer – Sorry, there has been an error.

  • I am usign WP-Importer to move site over to a new host. I am trying to import my exported xml files and get the follwoing error:

    File is empty. Please upload something more substantial. This error could also be caused by uploads being disabled in your php.ini or by post_max_size being defined as smaller than upload_max_filesize in php.ini.

    My webserver owns all the files for WordPress, my wp-content/uploads is 777, uploads are enabled, post_max size is larger than upload_max_filesize. Also the file is definitely not empty.
