• I will start by saying that I am a total newcomer to all. I literally built my first website in 10 hours using Theme: Twenty Twelve and have struggled for 4 days trying to get google to recognise my website.

I have installed the all-in-one-SEO plugin and created a sitemap which Google Webmaster in currently processing. However, it only picked up 2 URLs – one of which is my home page which I made private as I couldn’t customise it how I wanted to so I’ve hidden it from the world. The other URL relates to my About Us page which has been set up using the Front Page Template.

I have used all-in-one SEO to input key words into each of my pages but still google doesn’t see me. If I type Site:wilsonsdance.co.uk I can see references to my pages but if I type Blackpool Ballroom Dance nothing comes up. Boy is this confusing.

One thing I have come across is that I set up my web address as wilsonsdance.co.uk with my hosting company, WordPress recognises it as https://www.wilsonsdance.co.uk. The sitemap generates URLs for https://www.wilsonsdance.co.uk. Is this where the problem is or have I completely missed the point of all this. All I want to do is get my site seen on search engines.
