No access to admin area and dozens of blank file change warning emails

    The Better WP Secutiry plugin is, I think, broken since the update to WP 3.8. Works fine on one site with WP 3.7.1 but since updating WP, Headway Theme and all other plugins this plugin now sometimes locks me out of the admin area and sends dozens of blank file change warnings emails in the space of a few minutes.

    The site itself works and there are no problems with it. The admin area is, however inaccessible after I receive a few dozen blank file change warning emails. I try to log in and just get the message ‘You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page’. The only way I can get back into the admin area is by renaming the better-wp-security folder via FTP.

    This has happened a couple of times now – both times after adding another admin account and also ‘testing’ the 404 page on the site. I’ve read other threads that describe similar issues with this plugin but what seems to be different is that it was working well for me until adding the new admin account and testing the site’s 404 page. Could either of these two actions have caused the plugin to lock me out of the admin area?
