• Hi,

I have made a site transfer from this server to this one

My problem is that when I try to login to the admin page, it keeps redirecting me to the login screen. The only way (I have tried everything on this topic) I can acces the admin is by renaming my theme folder from “belateck” to “belateck-test” to force wordpress to use the default theme. But when I switch back to my belateck theme, wordpress redirect me to the login page again and I can’t access the admin no more…

I have tried a ton of solutions from the codex but can’t find anything that matches my problem. Anyone can help me with this?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hi Grun, check if you don’t have one.htaccess in the root. If that’s not working you can do a full clean install and add backup data to the new install.

    Oh!
Well I see that I have no .htaccess in the root. I deleted it myself (after reading something about this), but I tought WP would re-create it after I saved my permalinks…

I’m trying to create a new one with a text file but windows won’t let me create a file with no name… windows thinks “.htaccess” is an extension..

You can access your .htaccess file through your hosts c-panel set up. Under Popular tools is a file manager which will allow you to edit. The apache.org site has a how to here:

    https://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.1/howto/htaccess.html

    another one

    https://www.javascriptkit.com/howto/htaccess.shtml

Personally, I would put a ticket in with your host support for a fix.
