Foreign characters not working

Hi, just wondering if you had any success or ideas in finding a solution for non-Latin characters in the link text? (Like ??üé? and so on).

I need to use such characters in mailto links on my site, but currently I can’t when I’m using this plugin – they get messed up. ??
