blank admin page

    I am next to useless with computers and have been made I.T. person at our library. That being said…

    I installed “Events Manager” plugin on 1/9/2014
    Clicked ‘activate’ – screen goes white

    now any page I try to navigate from when viewing page and logged in directs me to a white page.

    I can log on/out but no wp-admin links work

    I don’t know how to reset plugin folder by using either the FTP method or phpMyAdmin method

    Prior to activating the “Events Manager” plugin everything was working fine.

    hi,

    sorry about that, you can try to turn-on wp_debug to see what causes this and/or you can also use your hosting cpanel to reset your site or wordpress installation by going to phpmyadmin and then see table wp_options then option name ‘active_plugins’ then clear it’s option_value

    How do I install phpmyadmin? I downloaded the zip but can’t quite figure out how to install.

    You’d need to unzip the file you downloaded and transfer the new set of files using FTP. After that you’d need to edit the config file for your web server configuration.

    I have a feeling your eyes may be glazing over at this point ??

    It’s worth checking the web panel of your web hosting system to see if phpMyAdmin is already installed (often it is). If so, you can follow Angelo’s suggestion above.

    If you don’t have phpMyAdmin and don’t want / can’t install it, here’s an easier way to deactivate the plugin:

    with some tech support we determined part of it was outdated WP version and part unknown. After the update plugin still did not work… but we where able to delete it.
