• First of all, thanks for this great plugin ! This is exactly what I was looking for. My wife has a treasure trove of photos and videos on her iPhone and this is the easiest way for me to help her get going with her blog.

    However, I have two suggestions which will helpfully improve this great plugin. One of the biggest challenge that I have with this plugin is knowing if it’s actually doing anything :

    1. Activity logging – it would be great if there’s a log that’s accessible via the admin interface to see if the plugin is working. At the moment, I’m manually refreshing the Media Library to see if it has pulled down the latest photos.

    2. Manual trigger – I know the plugin relies on WP-CRON.php to trigger its operation but it would be great if a manual “fetch new photos” button can be added to the set up screen in the admin interface to trigger the plugin operation.

    thanks !

    Chris,

    Thanks for the suggestions. It may take a bit of time to get these added into the plugin. Mainly I’m not 100% sure how I want to do logging in a reliable, easy, universal way (not everyone understands how to make log files writable by their web server, for example, or has the access to do so easily)

    In the mean time if you added the following line to youd wp-config, just under the <?php line

    define('PHOTOSTREAM_SYNC_DEV', true);

    You’ll get a button on the stream(s) to manually process the stream. There’s no cursor or visible feedback while this is happening though, so give it a minute after clicking the button before clicking again ??

    Thanks for this ! Have turned on the button and it’s great that I can trigger it manually from the admin UI. ??

    I enabled the dev-mode (using version 2.1) but I can’t find the button.
    Or is it enabled by default in this version and the button is called “import”?

    +1 for logging. (for now it would be enough to just show some logging info when I manually import the stream)

    PS: while using WP 3.9 and PS 2.1 I pushed two new photos to my stream. They got imported as drafts (settings were to publish).
