Icons displaying a gray boxes, in a list

    They look fine to me. It could have been a caching issue. Do you still see them as described above?

    I disabled W3 Total Cache and that fixed it. It looks like a problem with my CDN, though I have no idea why, so I have the CDN feature turned off for now.

    I am getting something similar, grey box with the word Facebook/Twitter, etc not the symbol. We’ve upgraded to WordPress 3.8. https://lethbridgeassociates.com/contact/

    I’m having the same issue https://e-business.ie/ (Footer #3 Widget). I viewed with another browser (IE vs Chrome) and still just grey boxes. I’m using it on another site in the WP Network with no problems and was going to use it network wide to standardize.

    Sorry @esmi usually you’d add to any open topic where someone is having the same problem, as opposed to opening a new topic for the same issue. I assumed that the solution for one would be the same for the other and you would post it here.

    I’m only noticing now that it says resolved, but there is no resolution noted here.

    Sorry but that’s not how these forums work. Have you reviewed the Forum_Welcome? If not, I’d suggest you do. It will maximise the chances of your questions being answered.
