    Hi,
I am having a problem with the backups where a tar file is being generated with size 1536 bytes containing only the index.html file within it. While the backup is being generated, one finds more files in the administrator/backups folder, only to be removed when the tar file is created. Moreover, at no time did the files of the website ever backed up (at least I did not find any references to them other than in the perm.txt and in the xcloner.log

  • Try switching the Backup Mode option to Normal in your XCloner Config System tab and see if it helps.

    Hi again,
First of all thanks for your reply. Unfortunately it did not work. While the backup process was working in the background I had an SQL file which was 1233168 bytes long, together with other files generated by the process. The final screen on the WordPress dashboard looked like this:

Total process: 100% out of 5404 files
Processing files 5400 to 5404 for backup file /var/www/vhosts/skola.edu.mt/nss.skola.edu.mt/administrator/backups/backup_2014-01-03_21-48_nss.skola.edu.mt-sql-nodrop.tar!
    Current backup size: 1.5 KB

    5400. directory – /wp-admin/js/inline-edit-post.js
    5401. directory – /wp-admin/js/media-gallery.js
    5402. directory – /wp-admin/js/common.min.js
    5403. directory – /wp-admin/options.php
    5404. directory –
    New backup size: 1536
All done! Manual Backup process finished! Click here to continue

The tar file generated was 1536 bytes long.

I still believe it is some setting I am missing, or possibly some missing support on the server side. But I still cannot figure out what.

Do you have the tar server utility option enabled, if so, try and disable it. It would help if you could post a screenshot from your XCloner Config panel.

    Hi Ovidiu,
did you have time to look at the links I posted with the images of the settings? Is there anything that I am doing wrongly?

    Stanley

The settings look correct, but try and disable the php.ini open_basedir php.ini setting and see if that helps! Try and also add a slash “/” at the end of the backup start and store path settings as well.

Thanks a lot, it seems the backslash was the problem as I was not able to change the php.ini as I do not have access to that.

    Well done.

Hello @sfenech is your issue resolved?

If it is would could you mark this support thread as resolved.

    Kind regards

Sorry about that, yes it is resolved.
As indicated in my last post, the problem was the backslash.

Same solution worked for me too – thanks!
