• Hello,

I’m new to WordPress, and I’ve been looking around for some good plug-ins. I found a couple, but they are driving me insane. Everything seems to require AJAX. I’ve done a fair amount of research, including here in the WordPress website, but I’m lost almost completely. I don’t know if AJAX itself is a plug-in or what? I can’t have some aspects of my site functioning because of this AJAX thing and plug-ins. Can someone please PLEASE enlighten me, thank you.

  • ajax is not a plugin …

here u can find more info about ajax …

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ajax_%28programming%29

in other word it’s just a way to refresh info without having to refresh a page …

Nesius, which plug-ins are you trying to use?? The AJAX code will either be included in the plugin file or will be an addidtional file which should be installed in the wp-content folder (assuing the plug-in is using WordPress “standards”)…
If you let us know the plug-ins it will be much easier to see where it is falling over…

I’m trying to use the Poll system by Gamerz. Link below:

    https://dev.wp-plugins.org/wiki/wp-polls

I followed the steps throughly, and installed it about 4 times unsuccesfully. I can’t vote, I can’t view results, nothing is working. The image provided (GIF file) keeps spinning and it says Loading… I have no clue what’s going on. I have a lot of experience with websites, and I can’t figure this out.

The Poll does display, that’s about it.
