Msg "Your settings are out of date. Migrate now."

    I just installed the plugin (version 5.0). Everything is working fine, except I cannot access the plugin’s setting. If I go there, the page says ” “Your settings are out of date. Migrate now.”

    Is there some way I can fix this? Or — since the only thing I want to change is to have the root breadcrumb say “Home” instead of the website title.

    To manually change the root breadcrumb to “Home”, I edited class.bcn_breadcrumb_trail.php.

    ‘Hhome_template’ => __(‘Home‘, ‘breadcrumb-navxt’),

    Is there any reason you didn’t click the “Migrate now” link? This is necessary to setup the settings on first install, and to migrate settings after updates.

    Never edit the files that ship with the plugin, your changes will be lost when updating to new versions of the plugin.

    I upgraded to version 5.0.1 and clicked the “Migrate now” this time, and I’ve got the settings again – thanks!

    I upgraded to 5.0.1 on a couple of WP’s, though, and the message “Breadcrumb NavXT was just updated from a pre-5.0 version, please go to your plugins page and activate “Breadcrumb NavXT”. Also, deactivate “Breadcrumb NavXT 5.0 Migration Compatibility Layer” to make this message disappear” is stuck at the top.

    Breadcrumb NavXT is activated and the Migration Compatibility Layer is deactivated. The only way the msg disappears is if the Migration Compatibility Layer is activated (but then the breadcrumbs stop working).

    This is happening on both WP installations. You may have heard about this already, but thought I’d let you know in case you haven’t. (I’ll put this in a separate support topic.)

    Not really re-opened, but I ran into this to for a client. John Havlik asks if there is a reason why the TS didn’t click the “Migrate now”-link.

    Well, for me, there is a reason why I don’t click that link: it’s unclear what will happen. There is no explanation on the page, nor could I find any explanation in the documentation.

    Since I am taking over maintenance of this website, I am checking which plugins are outdated or unnecessary. I am inclined to mark this plugin as useful for my client, but just clicking a link without knowing why or what will happen, is out of the question.

    So, this message is more to encourage better explanation on the page itself and in the documentation.
