How to auto-generate posts w/ thumbnail excerpt from link, as on Facebook

A lot of the posts I want to make are just sharing a link, and it’s a pain to have to upload a thumbnail image, write the excerpt, format everything, etc. … What I’d like is to just be able to paste a link somewhere and have it auto-generate the post for me that has a thumbnail, excerpt, and the link.

Is there a plugin that you know of that will let me just paste a link into a new post, like I can on a Facebook status update, and have it automatically generate a post with a thumbnail and excerpt (ideally that I can modify if I don’t like the default choice).
