content most recent post, excerpt others

    Hey, searched the forums and read the codex until my contacts dried out and can’t figure this out. The problem:

    I’m using the Japanese Cherry Blossom version of the Hemingway theme.

    Right now the theme is set to show the two most recent posts in two columns. If you change that number of posts to show and your posts are not just the perfect length, the page looks all out of whack.

    But I dont want all excerpts or all full content. I want my most recent post to show full content in the first column and 3 or 4 other posts to show in the second column with just the excerpt.

    Does that make any sense? I tried playing with the index file with disasterous results.Can someone help me? If so, what more information do I need to give?

  • That would mean re-designing that theme and I don’t think anybody would jump to it ??

    ahhhh… I didn’t realize it was something that involved, I figured it was just because I’m PHP impaired and thought maybe someone could whip out a simple code snippet to plop into the index file.
