• A couple of months ago I migrated my old domain to my new domain. A couple of weeks ago I set up a 301 redirect to redirect links from my old domain to my new one. I think somewhere along the way something got screwed up.

    When I go into my WP dashboard and click on “Plugins” in the menu bar, it takes me to a new page and says PAGE NOT FOUND. This is happening when I click on “Appearance,” “Appearance/Themes,” “Plugins,” and “Plugins/Installed Plugins.”

    If you click on the first link below, it appears that plugins.php is pointing to widgets.php; plugin-install.php appears correct but it gives me page not found error; themes.php appears to be pointing to widgets.php; admin.php isn’t pointing anywhere. https://romerocomm.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/wp-issue.png

    How can I resolve the problem? I have moderate skills in WordPress. Will I have to manually upload the latest WordPress in my cpanel or is there a simpler, easier route I can take? Thanks.

  • I’m also having the same issue on 3.8.1

    If someone have a solution?

    Do you have Jetpack installed? I noticed the plugin was causing the errors so I removed it.

    I got the same problem on client’s site.

    Best solution after 24 hours of headache ->
    Backup and perform a fresh install of 3.8.1 using cpanel/plesk/dhpanel
    restore the data again

    @laladivina
    No, I don’t have Jetpack installed on the site.

    @marvel Labs

    That solution is always there, though this seems to be an issue for many on the latest versions. So a stable solution would be much better.

    I’ve raised a question here.

    I had the same problems for months now. I reverted back to WP 3.7 (on hindsight, I think this is no longer necessary) and updated my PHP version to 5.4 and the problems got resolved.

    I was having this problem also, I even did a fresh WordPress install and was still having it. All you need to do is upgrade your PHP version.

    I went to my control panel and in the software/services section there’s a button that says php configuration, when you click on that a little drop down menu appears and there you can chose the latest version of PHP, which I was on 5.2 and upgraded it to 5.5. When I did that the 404 errors went away.

    well, the php version change isnt working for me. am still stuck with the 404 error inspite of php5.5

    Try these things, they may help you:

    Remove the Jetpack plugin, completely delete it.
    Reinstall the latest WordPress.
    Then reinstall Jetpack.

    I think that will help you. I also did those things.

    Other than that, I don’t know what else to do.
