Bulk Edit vs Filters – URL too large

  • Hi,

    With Filters activated, if I filter some posts, and use the built-in Bulk Edit functionality, apply some tag change, both IIS and Apache will throw out a similar error-

    Request-URI Too Large
    The requested URL’s length exceeds the capacity limit for this server.

    It seems to be using GET in querystring and the length is too long. If I disable the Filters, select similar number of posts and do a bulk edit, it went well.

    WP: 3.8

    Only one filter in my test. The Pods CPT has 6 fields. I tried to select 2 posts and bulk edit, it will still fail. Under IIS (WebMatrix actually) it shows a very long querystring like below:

    Looks like something went wrong there, that doesn’t look quite right. I’ll dig into it and see what I can find out.

    Sorry for the delay, I don’t have an IIS server to test with to find the exact cause of this so I may be unable to help you resolve this particular issue. If you find the issue, feel free to contribute a patch or tell me what line to change and I’ll apply it to the next release.
