No Archives Hemingway or Japanese Cherry Blossom Theme

    I’ve searched the forums and couldnt find an answer

    I am trying to use the Hemingway theme or the Japanese Cherry Blossom theme which is a twist on Hemingway.

    I cant see archives on either of these. I have the link to the archives by month and then the monthly posts show in a list but when you click on them there are no posts showing. Also when you click on Recent Posts, they dont show either – just blank space where the post should go.

    I have redownloaded the themes several times. No modifications done to hemingway, on japanese cherry blossom theme, replaced the stuff that comes in the sidebar with tag snippets for archives and recent posts.

    I dont know what else to post or show you to get some help.

  • Are your Permalinks working at all?

    Just for grins, try going to Options -> Permalinks and setting them back to Default.

    Now, do things work as expected?

    oh – how lovely, thank you very much. all pretty now.

    may i suggest that for future WP versions there be a big sign in there that says *dont touch permalink options if you are PHP impaired*

    lol. glad that fixed things. Now, do you want to start another thread to see if we can get pretty permalinks working?

    There’s some troubleshooting tips on the Permalinks codex page, too.

    ooh, are you giving me permission to be a posting slut and behave as if the WP forums revolve around my needs? because I’ve got about 4 questions burning a hole in my pocket to make this theme work for me but I thought I’d be polite and spread the questions over a week or so.

    I would love pretty permalinks to work because pretty is always better (unless you get ajax-itis and make things not functional but that’s another story) – I think I’ll hold off on the post sluttiness and check out the permalinks codex page you gave and then come back and scream in a new thread if I cant figure it out.
