Possible to add a animated loading page?

Is, it possible to add a loading page that would show the little circular loading animation you see often, to show while your page is loading?

If this is possible how could I do it? And, Could it be made to only show on main page loading, or alternately on every pages loading?

If there is somewhere anyone could refer me to more info about this sort of thing it would be greatly appreciated.
