NextGEN galleries does not show up in add media.

Ok I have done that now.

Fixed by disabling an other plugin, Meta slider.

Hmm, that is strange – it should only disable the NextGen option when you’re using Meta Slider itself (Meta Slider only works with pictures uploaded to the Media Library). I’ll take a look.
