Another "White Page of Death"…sorry

    First of all, Hello. I’ve read through a lot of the WPOD threads and tried some of the fixes (to no avail). My website is working just fine (www.morningquailacupuncture), but when I logged into the wp-admin I get the sidebar controls and a white pages, so I can’t edit content. I haven’t updated any plug-ins, but I disabled them just in case. This didn’t fix it. I’m fairly illiterate when it come to coding, so you’ll have to talk to me like a child. I checked to error log through bluehost and found this :
    ‘[21-Dec-2013 07:06:42 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Access to undeclared static property: WP_Screen::$this in /home5/morningq/public_html/wp-admin/includes/screen.php on line 706’ .
    I don’t know if its the culprit. I check the line of code and its like latin to me.
    ‘<?php echo self::$this->_help_sidebar; ?>’
    If there is more info you would need, let me know. Thanks in advance.

    Also, I did however make a change last week and this is the first time I’ve tried logging back on. I use this “all in one SEO” something or other and I changed one of the website “page tabs?” to a different subject. Not sure if its pertinent, but thought I’d mention it. Thanks

    Also, is there a way to change the content on the website using the files through my host (not wp-admin). I Want to get the issue in WordPress fixed, but in the meantime I really need a couple paragraphs fixed on the website. Thanks

    I would manually delete wp-admin and the reinstall from a fresh download of WP.

    Thanks for the response. I’m pretty ignorant with this stuff, so bear with me. Do I need to back up my theme and whatnot or is that not in the same folder?

    Ok, so I kinda resolved this (if only temporary). My host did an upgrade from php5.2 to php5.4 recently. So, I changed it back to 5.2 to see if it did anything…..boom….I can see my admin. So, I guess I just need to update my plugins, right? I don’t really know the difference between the 2.

    Alright, my temporary fix was actually permanent. After reverting to php5.2, I went into my admin and updated everything (plugins, wp, etc). Then I reverted back to the newer php5.4 through bluehost. That’s it.

    In my situation, a client of mine is using bluehost, and they have updated PHP to a newer version. The clients site is still at 3.3 or around there (and I cannot update it due to older plugins being used).
