wp_admin gives white page

Current issue: After trying out a different theme, I realized I couldn’t get back to wp_admin. It had become a white page.

I have read through many of the answers for this phenomena, and have tried each. Even going so far as to reset to default theme (twentyten) through mysql, getting twentyten to come up, but still get a blank page at wp_admin.

I have tried:
1)Mysql by adjusting lines 47 and 48 to twentyten. Got the site up and still couldn’t get to the wp_admin.
2)Functions.php and looked for extra spaces at start and finish
3) Uploading a fresh wp_admin folder
4)config.php
5)renamed plugins folder to see if it was a plug in issue.

I have tried all of these to no advantage. I got close at one point, the sign in popped up, I signed in and BAM, white blank page again.

This came on after updating to 3.8 .
The themes I have installed (and were being used at this time) are:
Gameport and gameshit.
I have used gameport for three years without issue up till now it seems.
