• I updated the Customizr theme this morning and something went wrong and my site became inaccessible (500 Internal Server Error). I contacted my host (BlueHost) and they were able to restore my site to the previous version of Customizr, but recommended I contact the developer for support.

    URL is https://www.fscxcorp.com

I am using a child theme. if that matters.

    Any advice is appreciated!

  • Any messages during the Update?

Could try changing to a different Theme, then download Customizr and Reactivate Customizr.

No, no message. It seemed to download and update normally, then the issue happened when I clicked the link to take me back to my dashboard.

Should I delete the current install of Customizr? Since I do have a child theme created, as long as I save that version, will I have to re-do any settings after I re-install it, or should I just be able to reactivate the child theme?

Don’t think it matters, but may be cleaner to delete the current theme. Your child theme will remain (maybe take a backup!). Download and activate the new build, then activate your child theme.

I tested an early beta and didn’t have any problems, and have since taken the official update.

Having written lots of Snippets then I’m eager to hear of any problems encountered.

Let me know how you’ve got on.

Hey, don’t know if you have changed anything recently but the link you sent above is working for me.

I have a similar problem. the home page load normally, but i have problems with the others pages. In Firefox i have this message: “Content Encoding Error”

The page with the problem is https://www.veterinariaroco.cl

    Did it again!
    -Changed my theme
    -Deleted my install of Customizr
    -Re-Installed Customizr
    -Activated my Customizr child theme

At that point, when I clicked to activate the child theme, the site just… did nothing. Can’t go to my dashboard, etc.

I have the site in maintenance mode, so if you go to https://www.fscxcorp.com it brings up the maintenance memo. But, if you go to the login URL, it is just blank (google chrome) or HTTP 500 Internal Server Error (IE)

Have you tried deactivating ALL plugins before updating?

@azraelhauyon – you need to start your own thread – your issue is not the same and it’s very confusing to have more than one person in a thread.

No, will do once tech support from my webhost gets my site back online!

    Reproduced.

Take a copy of .htaccess, then try removing your .htaccess. Refresh your browser.

You should be able to access your site files yourself using Cpanel or FTP – and delete that again.

OK, disabled all plugins (except maintenance mode)

Tried to reactivate new download of Customizr, theme broke again. This time I learned how to get back to my dashboard at least (tech support had me set it back to twentytwelve via phpmyadmin)

Just now, I activated a theme I had previously used and it broke again! Also tried activating the previous version of Customizr.. that broke too. No idea what is going on now :/

if I try the htaccess thing, is that through the file manager, or the phpmyadmin? This part of site building is new to me.

    So it’s not Theme-related then.

The .htaccess file sits in the root directory of the WP install. Access via your File Manager. This is often a cure for white screens.

I also use Customizr and last week i update Word Press to 3.8 no problem. Yesterday there was an update from Customizr and it go also wrong. Now the site is not working any more. Only the front page.
The other pages not. What can i do ? Can someone help me? ( In Dutch)
