Bearing in mind I have no knowledge of scrips/ html, I just use wordpress for editing my site.

I updated my plugins last night, there were about three I updated, unfortunately I cant remember which ones they were. I left it updating.

This morning, I went to log on as usual and got this message across the screne:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function _optionsframework_options() in /homepages/10/d362103567/htdocs/uk2kenya/wp-content/themes/ayoshop-wp-theme/lib/admin/admin.php on line 24

This is slightly terrifying me as I run my online shop on wordpress and at the moment its very busy as its coming up to christmas.

When I visit my site form a different browser as a guest (not logged into worpress) my site seems to display fine. As soon as I navigate to wwwSITEADRESS.co.uk/wp-admin I and log in I get the message.

I am in dire need of some help, and please bear in mind I have no real technical knowledge, I just simply use wordpress to edit my site and make things look pretty.

Any help would be gratefully received.

    Kind regards,
    Declan

  • Hi, Declan

I was just setting up an ecommerce store from scratch using the genesis framework. I was testing the ayo child theme to see if I liked it. It installed fine, but after installing the required and recommended plugins I got the exact same error message as you.

For me (and I’m guessing for you), the culprit was the “options framework” as before I installed it, it said it may not be compatible with my version of wordpress (the most current version). So I figured that was it.

To fix this, I logged into my cpannel (I have hostgator) and opened the file manager. Then I went to my website_folder>wp-content>plugins and deleted the folder called “options framework” You can also FTP in and delete it

The website and the backend was back to normal. I will not use the ayo theme because it does not work as it requires the options framework which isn’t compatible with the most current version of wordpress.

WARNING: I don’t know what functionality or harm it may do to your shop if you delete the options framework, as it said it was required for the ayo theme. So fair warning. You may want to contact the developers of ayo theme or options framework and explain the situation.

Sorry to hear that this is happening to you, luckily I am not already invested in this theme and am just building out a ecommerce site, so I am able to choose a paid child theme. I guess that is a risk with using a free child theme, as when you need help, if you bought the theme from studiopress, I’m sure they would have more info for you or help you out more. But who knows maybe ayo theme developers will be able to help you out.

    Good luck.

    Hi Jeff,

Thanks a lot for the post!

Its ok Ive sorted out the problem now (i deleted via ftp), yeah it was the options framework plugin. The author had been informed of the problem on another forum by someone else having exactly the same issue.

    The solution:
Go to the options framework plugin page on www.remarpro.com and go to developers tab and download version 1.6.0.

Ive done this, and everything seems to be working absolutely fine!

The author assures everyone he is communication with studiopress and they are debugging the issue, so AYO shop should be fine to use with the plugin update shortly.

Good luck on building from scratch, impressive!

    All the best,
    Declan

    Hi there,

I have to just thank you both for this thread and the helpful information. I ran into this problem yesterday and have been freaking out until implementing the solution you mentioned here.

    Thank you SO much!!!

    Hi Jeff,
I had a similar Fatal Error for a different Plug in, but your directions helped me get rid of it because I also use hostgator. It would not let me in anywhere after I added my plug in for a store.

I just deleted the entire plugin since it did not allow me to do anything after I added it.

Thanks so very much! I thought I lost everything.
