Sticky Slider Malfunction

My sticky post slider is not appearing as it should:

This site was built about a year ago. Over the weekend, the client (editor) who was attempting to create a blog post ended up changing the content on the home page and somehow caused the slider to disappear. They aren’t sure how, and neither am I. There were a lot of modifications via a child theme, but the details are hazy since it has been a full year.

I’ve tried to edit the page template so that it appears again as it once did, but something is off and I just can’t put my finger on it. Can you lend a pair of fresh eyes, and maybe some pointers?
