Step 3 of installation instructions

Ok, before I get started with my question, please allow me add the following info:

On the first install of Super Cache, it worked fine. However, after finding out that I could use Super Cache with Jetpack mobile, I installed Jetpack and then enabled the mobile theme. That’s when all my problems occurred. I got the error message about needing to update the mod_rewrite rules. So I followed all the “fixes” to no effect. I deleted the code between “begin supercache” and “end supercache” as instructed (since you’re the developer, you know what I’m talking about…don’t want to bother looking up the exact wording of that code). I uninstalled Super Cache

I want to reinstall it, now that Jetpack mobile is already installed BEFOREHAND, hoping that it will just reinstall and work perfectly now.

If this re-install will work, how on earth do I perform step number 3 of the installation instructions? I am a newb, so the following instructions are like Greek to me: “3. Upload this directory to your plugins directory. It will create a ‘wp-content/plugins/wp-super-cache/’ directory.” What directory exactly am I uploading, and where on earth am I uploading it to? It is going to “create a ‘wp-content/plugins/wp-super-cache/’ directory” automatically? Or is that the directory that I am uploading? I kindly ask that you would rewrite these instructions on the installation guide for newbs like myself who don’t even no how to upload a directory or find their plugins directory. I mean, I could find A plugins directory somewhere by using search in my cPanel, but I wouldn’t have any clue if it were the proper plugins directory. I have 2 sites…would the plugins directory that is in the public_html part of my cPanel for the particular website I’m working with be what I am looking for or creating? I know that sounds stupid, but as a newb, I want to know exactly how to do it so as not to screw anything up. I’m guessing the fact that I accidentally skipped over this step the first time may be the reason my mobile pack plugin screwed up the installation by installing it after I had already installed Super Cache with accidentally skipping over step 3.

Will doing what I have done by uninstalling and then making sure I do step number 3 this time with Jetpack already installed and the mobile theme already installed work? If I had done step number 3 the first time, installed Super Cache first, and then installed Jetpack and activated mobile theme, would I have had no problem? If not…if Jetpack mobile must already be installed before installing Super Cache… may I kindly suggest for the sake of other newbs in the future that you mention in the installation instructions that if you want to use Super Cache with a mobile theme, you should first install Jetpack and then enable the mobile theme in the Jetpack settings, and make sure to do this before ever installing Super Cache?

Oh, and if there is anything I need to do other than having already deleted Super Cache from my Dashboard and then re-doing steps 1 and 2 of the installation guide before I attempt step 3, please let me know!
