Ripping XML-RPC

Hello all,

For my own-written weblog (trying to learn more about PHP) I want to support XML-RPC, including metaweblog. What do I need to know about your XML-RPC before I rip your sys? Because the code stops running at

$this->methods = apply_filters(‘xmlrpc_methods’, $this->methods);

What does this filter do? If I remove the line, the script doesn’t seem to do anything. If I keep it, the function is not found.
