    I entered the code:

    [email-download download_id=”43″ contact_form_id=”7″]

in the body of the page… it’s a single page site with
a video on top and – desired – contact form that people
will fill in in order to receive a free guide

when I update and refresh the page, this is what
is displayed on the page and no form
    [contact-form-7 404 “Not Found”]

This is my contact 7 code –
    [contact-form-7 id=”14″ title=”Email Before Download Form”]
    there is an ID #….

I’ve tried using 7 as the form ID code and also 14 (as
shown in contact 7 form) and neither work

I have extremely little experience/”expertise” in
    using/setting up code…

I will greatly appreciate your assistance.

    I tried one more thing…

I put the contact form code into the page
by itself and saved the page…

    contact form showed up…

I checked the contact form and realized
that I’d left the “subject” and “comment”
sections in the set up….. so, deleted
    these and saved the code…

I went back to the page and deleted the
contact form code and once again, entered
the “email for download” code into the
same place it had been inserted several
    times before….

    saved/updated the page and VOILA!!!
the Email for Download form was there..

I entered my email and submitted…

    It works perfectly….

at this moment, I don’t know WHY it worked
    this time…

Possibly because I deleted the two fields
    that were not necessary?

Hope this info is useful to someone else
    having the same challenges…

    Hello,

Thank you for your interest in our plugin. We are also glad you got things working. You should be able to include non required fields in an email before download form. The best suggestion I have as to why it works is possibly a small error in the short code that went unnoticed initially and when it was added a second time, that error wasn’t there. This isn’t a guarantee that is what happened, but just a thought.

Please let us know if you run into any other issues and we will be happy to help.
