    Hello,

I’ve created a Twitter application and have posted all of the information and keys into the Rotating Tweets under Settings.

I’m running it as a Widget and it continually displays the message:

    Problem retrieving data from Twitter

    Not sure what is wrong.

For clarification, the widget asks for “Twitter Name” Should I include the @?
    I’ve tried both
    @OpenClosProject
    OpenClosProject

    Same error message.

    How can I debug this?

The best way to debug the problem is to look at the source code for the page. There should be some error messages in there that explain the problem. You may also see some further error messages if on the regular page if you let the error message rotate.

If there is a problem with the connection, you should also see a message when you save the settings on the settings page.

I normally use it without the @ sign.

I found the problem accidentally. It was because that account had yet to tweet anything. As soon as I made a tweet it showed up.

However that account did receive a mention, but I don’t think your widget supports #tags or mentions.

    Thank you

    Douglas,

Thanks for mentioning that. I’ll see if there’s a way of detecting it and giving a more useful error message.

You can easily access tags and references by using the search function.

Haha! I was trying to solve this one for like half an hour and realised that I haven’t tweeted anything on this particular account!

Anyway, thanks for this awesome plugin!

    Here is how it looks:
