Hello, I upgraded my gallery-plugin yesterday from 3.8.9 to 4.0.8. The returned messages said it was ok.

But, this morning, the Gallery plugin has disappeared from my dashboard and looking to my server plugins subdirectory I only have three pictures in teh subdirectory : gallery-plugin/upload/files/, all others subdirectories and files are not there. It looks like the gallery-plugin has been erased from my server.

    How to recover :
-I have a wp-content backup that is three month old. Should I reload the gallery-plugin from this backup to my server?
-Are all my galleries lost or just the galleries I created after the backup?

    Thanks

    Hi jpmarceorg,

Your galleries are stored in the database, that’s why they couldn’t be lost. The images for these galleries are stored in folder wp-content/uploads/, that’s why if you didn’t remove them, they couldn’t disappear.
The functionality of gallery’s custom uploader primarily posts the files into the plugin’s folder instead of uploads folder, and then when saving a post it moves them into uploads folder using wp functionality.
That’s why the thing you are talking about is temporary files.
Please try to delete the gallery plugin and re-install it. Only your settings will be lost. Or with your FTP program or via cPanel go to folder wp-content/plugins and delete the folder
gallery-plugin. Please make use of the following information:

Then re-install the plugin (in such a way your settings won’t be lost)

    Sincerely,
    Support Team
