Skirmish Pic?

  • Hello.

    This is my first post as i am having some trouble with the theme of my website.

    Firstly i would like to use the “Skirmish” theme. I have downloaded and installed it however i would like to change the ship picture to one of my own. How do i do this? Please give me a step by step guide as i am very new to all of this.

    Second there is a column down the right of the screen showing “archives” etc can i get rid of this element? If so again how do i do this please?

    1). Connect to your admin panel: https://yoursite.com/wp-login.php
    2).Press on Appearence button in your Dashboard
    3). Press on Header button in your Dashboard
    4). Press on Browse…
    5). Find image in your computer which you want to make your header.
    6). Select it, press Open button
    7). Then press Upload
    8). Press Skip Cropping
    9). Press final button; SAVE in the bottom of page
    10). Check what you have in your front page

    IT was how to change your Header image

    Here are steps to remove Archives from right sidebar:
    1). Connect to your admin panel: https://yoursite.com/wp-login.php
    2).Press on Appearence button in your Dashboard
    3). Press on Widgets button in your Dashboard
    4). Find Sidebar block on right where inside you will see Archives block
    5). Hover over Archives in Sidebar block
    6). Press on Archives and Drag it over Available Widgets block and release the mouse button
    10). Check what you have in your front page

    Still have a problem with the sidebar! I have somehow managed to move it to the bottom of my webpages?? How do i delete it entirely please?

    Repeat steps for removing Archives from sidebar and make sure there is no word Archives on Sidebar block.

    Ok. Done all of what you suggest but the archives etc still show at the foot of the page? https://www.thedurhampals.org.uk

    If this is not that what you need, explain what you want to do and what you mean “bottom of my webpages”

    if you look on my webpage https://www.thedurhampals.org.uk

    you will see at the bottom of each page “archives” and “meta” in brown text. I believe it is called the sidebar? Somehow it is now at the foot of the page and i am trying to remove it totally.

    I am also attempting to get the text on each page to stretch across the whole of the page too.

    Your help is greatly appreciated!
