This is driving me crazy. I’ve had to correct through modifications via suggestions in this post. The file I edited was /wp-includes/css/editor.css to locate the .js .tmce-active .wp-editor-area as suggested in that post. This temporarily corrected it.

24 hours later though and I added a pic to the post and now the text in the edit box is white again. The published post displays correctly and the code correction.

Not only that but when I highlight it all, to be able to see the text, there now is no media showing. Well actually I can’t get the VIEW mode to work. It will only display the TEXT mode with the white text/invisible text. The page loads mega slow too like there is some errors in there somewhere.

Hope someone might share some advice.

No! Never, ever, edit WordPress core scripts. And do not encourage others to do so. Editing core scripts can bring down your entire site and/or open security holes for hackers to use. Re-upload a fresh copy of any core file that you edited.

Well really it was just the css but I read you loud and clear. Done. Still have no idea what caused the problem in the first place but it seems to have sorted itself.
