I’m helping out a Non-profit. In their home page, we’ve got a couple of clickable icons that will appear on all the sites’ pages. “Donate” and “Contact”.

I don’t know what to call these as a newbie to WordPress. It looks like the source code calls them icons.

I don’t know how to find the spot where I can change the link that the “Donate” button leads too. In the meantime, I’ve made a “patch” that takes on to an unnamed page (actually Donate) and then provided a button to click again to take to the new donation site.

You can view this at https://www.theopentable.org

    Help will be much appreciated.

Where did you obtain the currently active theme from?

Before I got involved, the website was created and hosted by a church. Someone who helped that site get set up provided this link, and also said I’d need to use SFTP — which I’m not familiar with.

Sounds like you are using a custom theme – which limits the amount of assistance we can provide via these forums. All I can suggest is that you start by examining the theme’s header.php template file.

Thanks for the information in any case.

Now, I understand we are being hosted by another wordpress site.

    1. I need help finding that host and:

    2. How can we be set up to be our own host? and change our theme.

    3. Help with installing a WordPress Mobile Plugin — and which one would you recommend?

Find out who the admin is of the site that is hosting yours. Ask for an SQL dump of the tables that belong to your site. Find a decent host and restore from the SQL dump.

I wouldn’t recommend using a mobile plugin. I would switch to a responsive theme personally. If you must use a mobile plugin, I haven’t ever used one so I couldn’t recommend any.

Trying to contact you but no pm system here by the looks of it.

You’ll have to make do with the forums.

Shame, I wish to assist but don’t want to broadcast my private details to the world.
