• I’ve seen this question asked before, and I also Googled it, and I still don’t understand how to get the numbering right. I have four comments, and when I look at Manage–>Comments they are numbered correctly. But in the blog itself, they are numbered 2 3 4 6. Could someone please tell me if there is a setting I missed somewhere or something I need to download? My address is table4five.net. Thank you!!

  • The numbering you see in Manage > Comments is auto-generated by html tag <OL>

The one you see in the blog are the comment IDs. The gap is caused by deleted or spam comments.

If you want 1..2..3 numbering, use <OL> to list your comments, or make your own counter.

Thank you! I didn’t even think about the spam comments, of which Akismet is catching plenty. There’s something about the gaps in the comment IDs that bugs the perfectionist in me. I’ll insert the

      .

My visitors commented to the incorrect blog entry, can I manually correct the comments to the correct blog entry?

    Please advise – Regards

    Charl
