Feed to Post

What is the RSS feed that you think makes the plugin non-functional?

I don’t think any particular feed makes this feature non-functional. I just don’t see any results with this particular module of the plugin. The RSS Multi-importer is doing a bang-up just displaying feeds you can some of them at the bottom of my front page here:

I just can’t see any evidence that the exact same feeds are actually doing anything in the “Feed to Post” module of the plugin.

well, since you are the first to say the plugin is not functional, I’ll need more information. As you can see in the movie, I took one of your feeds and used it in the Feed to Post with no problem:

There must be a problem with your settings or something since I cannot reproduce what you say is the non-functional aspect of the plugin.

I added 5 feeds, than i addes 5 feed categories and I set up feed to post.
After this, I added another 20 feeds and another 20 feed categories. And now I can’t acces Feed to Post Settings. It’s stuck on loading…

update: It’s stuck on loading means that it won’t acces this page /wp-admin/options-general.php?page=wp_rss_multi_importer_admin&tab=feed_to_post_options

I suppose I need to try it with just one feed. I have many feeds. All I can tell you is that with many feeds I am doing the exact same thing as you demonstrate, but when I click fetch feeds there is a long pause and then the message says “There were no new feed items to add.” And nothing appears in manage posts.

well, right now, the only feeds that will be added are those put into the one plugin category called “local news” since that is the only category chosen at the bottom of the feed to post admin page.

That would be exactly what I would want . . . if it actually happened. I’m not sure why it’s not happening.

I’ve made no changes to any settings but today I notice that posts started popping up. Almost there Smithers. Now it would be nice if the excerpts or text would appear in the posts.

are you sure you have it set for the excerpts to appear in the posts? If you are using the feed to post, the items become wordpress blog posts – then it’s up to wordpress (not the plugin) to show the excerpts.

Actually, just went to your site and the excerpts are there…you have the shortcode set to hide and show the excepts – turn that option off and you’ll see the excerpts all the time.

I selected “give me all” or some such variation. What’s bizarre is that it started working without any changes by me. I’m suspecting that there was some sort of hiccup related to my caching program.

I also notice that the RSS/feed images are not showing up as featured images on the posted feeds.

the shortcode doesn’t do featured images…that only happens with the feed to post when you choose that option

Everything under Local News is generated by shortcode. Everything under Recent Updates is generated by Feed to Post. The image that is showing in the Recent Updates is my default image when there is no featured image.
