Did you check “Use bxSlider” in Testimonials > Settings, Compatibility or widget options Compatibility sections?

    Thank you for reply.
I’m looking at compatibility settings but I don’t see what parameter is relevant to the player stop go button not displaying. Taxonomies, export, import, remove data, reset to defaults, bxslider, disabled animation…?

BTW, we have used the plugin in past projects who did not require the stop go buttons.
Currently, it is being used on a staging project, not yet live for a client who wants to stop and read each testimonial. ??

bxSlider is the custom JavaScript slider code replacement.

Make sure you’re running Testimonials Widget 2.15.1 and check the reset settings box. Then recreate your widgets.

    Did that help?

    Nothing changed.

    What I did:
    1. Removed widget from web page display area
    2. Reset the settings under compatilibility bxslider
    3. Adjusted custom settings, max height, speed, no gravatar display, no author, etc.
    4. Returned widget to original web page display area (first footer)

    Regarding versions, 2.15.1 is installed.

You can see it working at this staging web, only available briefly,

    Thank you for your help!

Did you create new testimonials widgets or just drag the old back?

You need to create new ones after resetting the options.

Further, you need to make sure the options you’re selecting are active with the version you’re running.

Example: Height options don’t work with bxSlider. They’re pre-2.15.0.

In answer to your question, we created a new testimonial widget using the testimonial widget in the available widgets area.

In other words, we dragged a testimonial widget to display area, changed title and saved,

All options were default from main testimonial widgets settings

No matter about height, Increasing character count does the trick.

Okay, I admit to confusion now. What exactly is wrong?

Thank you for all your help, especially checking out the widget on my project.
If your conclusions are correct, that it is a theme conflict, then I will look into that angle.
I will probably go with adding a tip to indicate mousever halts the slider.

Hovering over the slider, does halt it. That’s on purpose.

Halt on mouseover suits our clients needs perfectly.

Thank you for your offer of deeper support.
