Show Up Next Event

I can’t find in their documentation on how to just pull in certain things. I don’t want to make a custom Events page. I just was hoping for an example on how I can query the events list, show the up next event with it’s featured image, description, and a link to the event. Then was also hoping to just output a list of the next 5 upcoming events after that. I just can’t seem to find in the documentation or tutorials on how to do this.
